When you join WildComm, your Fieldwork Accommodation Rate isn’t just a cost – it’s a direct investment in real conservation.

Our rate is £700 per month, and we work hard to keep this as affordable as possible – comparable to what you might pay in rent at home. For many participants, joining us for three months means simply redirecting what they’d normally spend on living costs, not paying extra.

Every pound you contribute gives landowners a genuine reason to protect habitats, helping keep wild places wild, and supports fair wages for conservation professionals. You’re not just funding an experience and securing a place to stay; you’re funding the science, the people, and the landscapes that make lasting change possible. Choosing to join WildComm is choosing to be part of something bigger – a community proving that nature has value, and that together, we can shape a future where wildlife thrives.

Funding Your Placement

At WildComm, we are a grassroots, self-sustaining initiative. We do not receive external funding or grants to subsidise participant Fieldwork Accommodation Rates, nor do we have organisational funds to cover these costs ourselves. Every placement is made possible solely through the direct contributions of those who join us.

We understand that this may be a barrier for some, but it ensures that all resources go directly into conservation action, fair wages, and maintaining the integrity of our programs. If you are seeking financial support, we encourage you to explore scholarships or grants from your university, professional associations, or independent sponsors.

Joining WildComm means you are part of a community building conservation from the ground up – together, we make every pound count.
